Cryotherapy or "Cold Therapy" is an alternative wellness treatment technique that exposes the body to very cold temperatures for a short period of time. Cryo is non-invasive and is not considered to be a medical treatment but rather a wellness treatment.

Both whole body and localized or partial body cryotherapy treatments are available. They are used for similar wellness benefits.

It is believed to increase blood circulation, stimulate your metabolism, reduce inflammation and reduce muscle pain as well as other pain.  It is also used in beauty and skin treatments to improve the complexion, increase collagen production and reduce signs of aging of the skin as well as for body fat reduction.

There are risks involved in cryotherapy. The extreme cold has risks of frostbite as well as cold related rashes and burns. Equipment that uses liquid nitrogen to achieve the cooling presents risk of suffocation if liquid is not properly handled, stored and monitored.

Proper installation, operating procedures and training are essential to mitigate these risks.
