At this time no state requires spray tanning certification.

There are several states with specific requirements -
  • New Jersey has a regulation that prohibits persons under the age of 14 from getting spray tans.
  • Ohio requires registration as a tanning facility to offer spray tanning and requires warning signs as well as personal protection measures.
  • Oregon requires that you be a certified in esthetics and practice only in a licensed cosmetology facility.
