US National Tanning Regulations

Canada National Tanning Regulations

Indoor tanning is covered by the Radiation Emitting Devices (RED) Act as implemented in the Radiation Emitting Devices Regulations, Schedule II, Part XI (Tanning Equipment). These set the requirements for tanning equipment.

The regulations are overseen by Health Canada,  https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/environmental-workplace-health/radiation/ultraviolet-radiation.html; along with the Federal Provincial Territorial Radiation Protection Committee; they publish Guidelines for Tanning Equipment Owners, Operators and Users.
